That day, the couple went to the polling station located at La Fontaine high school in Paris to fulfill their civic duty. They were accompanied for the occasion by the mayor of the 16th arrondissement of Paris, Jérémy Redler. It was quite late in the afternoon and few photographers were present on site to immortalize this event.
Shortly after voting, the musician published a video on her Instagram account, in which she appears alongside her husband. The singer then sang La Marseillaise with a broad smile on her lips, while the former head of state held her by the shoulder. With this famous video, the couple called on French voters to vote to elect their deputies. "How I love you both. You are two soul mates who wandered for many years before finding each other. The day before Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni were abroad. In fact, the former resident of the Élysée accompanied his wife to Milan in Italy. He then attended his performance on the stage of the Teatro Dal Verme, as part of the Worm Up! Festival. Here again, the photographers present on site immortalized this moment. For the record, Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni met for the first time in 2007, shortly after the politician's election to the post of President of the Republic. They eventually married the following year, officially making Carla Bruni the First Lady of France.
