. On the sidelines of the presentation of his new title, he took the opportunity to take stock of his life and his career. A straightforward assessment of great sincerity, like this sensitive and mysterious character.

A NEW SINGLE IN TOULOUSE COLORS FOR FRANCIS CABREL
Francis Cabrel appeared on the show Quotidien on October 6 to present his latest single, Un piece de Sicre, in homage to a Toulouse personality. He was in the company of his daughter Aurélie, who produced this piece. Despite the release of his new single, Cabrel surprised by announcing that he had no album in preparation and did not feel inspired to create one. “No, no, I couldn’t wait to see it come out. It’s coming out on this little label, but there’s no album in the works.” Cabrel linked his lack of inspiration to his upcoming birthday, specifying that he will turn 70 in a month and a half and that he is waiting to see how that will influence his creativity.
AN END OF CAREER IN SUSPENSION FOR FRANCIS CABREL
The artist neither ruled out nor confirmed the possibility of ending his career, stating that a new album would depend on the inspiration that could return. “I don’t have any inspiration, I’m at a low point here. And inspiration, and the desire to have inspiration.” He said his musical approach was serene, no longer necessarily seeking radio airplay and being satisfied with his current repertoire. “I'm quite happy to have led my life like that, between appearances where I approach what we call show business, and long periods where I move away from it to live like a family man , a villager, quiet… “.

FRANCIS CABREL: A JOURNEY WHICH IS REMEMBERING ANOTHER MONUMENT OF FRENCH MUSIC
Cabrel's comments recall Jean-Jacques Goldman's withdrawal from the world of music for several years. “I am calm because I have been doing this job for forty years. I loved. I still love it.” In June 2021, Cabrel had already spoken about his distance from show business, preferring to live a quiet life as a father and villager during his periods of media absence. The song “Un piece de Sicre” is a tribute to Claude Sicre, an important Toulouse personality for Cabrel and the inhabitants of the south of France. “Claude Sicre is an extremely important Toulouse character for us, people of the south. I wanted to pay homage to this city.”

The single was released on a small label, but Cabrel confirmed that no album was in the works. “I can’t say that, but maybe one more, if inspiration returns. Maybe one, it’s still a lot of work”
A LACK OF INSPIRATION, BUT NOT AN END IN ITSELF FOR FRANCIS CABREL
The singer expressed his lack of inspiration and desire to create music at the moment. “My repertoire suits me so far. My concerts are going well. It's sporadic. I’m not on stage all the time fortunately, it suits me that way.” Cabrel hinted that he might consider a new album if inspiration returned, while emphasizing that creating music represents considerable work, and at 70 he is no longer sure he still wants to do it. He insisted that his current musical approach was focused on the enjoyment of playing guitar and that his concerts were sporadic, with no pressure to have his songs played continuously on the radio.
