Ingredients
For the Bread:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Cinnamon Sugar Swirl:
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Optional Glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1–2 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat and Prepare the Pan:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Combine Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Make the Batter:
Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in a dense loaf.
Layer the Batter and Cinnamon Sugar:
Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter. Add the remaining batter on top, then finish with the remaining cinnamon sugar. Swirl the layers gently using a knife or skewer.
Bake:
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Optional Glaze:
Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl. Drizzle over the cooled bread for added sweetness.
