We all act foolishly when we’re young. After all, a necessary part of growing up is knowing when to say no to something that seems risky.

Even the brightest kids can be coerced and persuaded to participate in stunts that threaten to have terrible repercussions, because kids are vulnerable to peer pressure and other similar pressures.

Just ask the parents of Tyler Broome, an 11-year-old who experimented with the YouTube trend “the roundabout of death” and suffered terrible injuries.

Yes, the name pretty much tells you everything you need to know, but for Tyler, it wasn’t so much a risky prank as a way to impress his friends with his bravery.

After being exposed to extremely high gravitational force (G-force), the 11-year-old suffered injuries similar to those seen in fighter pilots.

In the “roundabout of death” craze he participated in, people sit in the center of a play roundabout while the rear wheel of a motorcycle spins it rapidly.

Shortly after the incident, Tyler was found unconscious near the roundabout, likely with brain and eye damage. He reportedly experienced G-forces typically only experienced by astronauts and pilots.

Tyler and a friend were reportedly at a nearby park when they were approached by older children who challenged them to a game.
