Directions
1. Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let sit for about 5 minutes, until frothy.
2. Make the Dough
In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
3. Knead and Let Rise
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
4. Preheat Oven
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
5. Shape the Breadsticks
Divide the dough into small pieces. Roll each into a long breadstick shape.
Place on the baking sheet, brush with water, and sprinkle with sesame seeds and coarse salt.
6. Bake
Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown.
7. Cool and Serve
Allow the breadsticks to cool slightly before serving.
