Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Layer Ingredients: Start by placing the chicken, chopped onion, and butter in the slow cooker. Sprinkle with herbs.
Add Liquids: Pour in the chicken broth and cream of chicken. Mix everything together.

Cook: Set the slow cooker on low for 6 to 7 hours or on high for 4 hours.

Shredded Chicken: After cooking, shred the chicken and stir.

Add the dumplings: Place the cookie dough (or rolled dumplings if you’re making them from scratch) on top of the mixture. Cook for another 1-2 hours until cooked through and golden brown.
You can thicken the soup base with a cornstarch mixture before adding the meatballs. Some recipes also recommend adding frozen vegetables during the last hour for added flavor and nutrition
