1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
2 green onions, chopped (optional)
Directions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, olive oil, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and black pepper.
Add the chicken drumsticks to the bowl and toss them in the marinade until they are well coated.
Line a baking sheet with foil and arrange the drumsticks in a single layer.
Pour any remaining marinade over the drumsticks.
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, turning the drumsticks halfway through, until they are cooked through and the glaze is sticky and caramelized.
If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
Variations & Tips
For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of sriracha or red pepper flakes to the marinade. If you prefer a less sweet version, reduce the honey to 1/3 cup. For a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce. You can also try this recipe with chicken thighs or wings for a different cut of meat. To make it a one-pan meal, add some sliced bell peppers or carrots to the baking sheet with the drumsticks.
