For squares: Place a spoonful of chopped chocolate or a few chips in the center of each square (cut pastry into 9 or 12 squares).
For twists: Spread melted chocolate or a thin layer of Nutella, fold the pastry in half, cut into strips, and twist.
Seal the edges if making squares—press lightly with a fork or your fingers.
Egg wash: Beat the egg and brush it over the top of the pastries for a golden finish.
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
🔁 Variations:
Add banana slices for a chocolate-banana version.
Use white chocolate or a mix of chocolates.
Add a pinch of cinnamon or chili powder for a twist.
