Ingredients:
1 can of drained canned tuna
1 onion, chopped
1-2 cloves of crushed garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil
400 g of pureed tomatoes or canned tomatoes
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
Salt, pepper to taste
(Optional: olives, capers, chili flakes)
Preparation:
Simmer the onion in the olive oil until translucent.
Add the garlic and fry for a few seconds.
Add the tuna and mix.
Pour in the tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and cook for approx. 15-20 minutes.
Finally, add the optional ingredients.
Usage: Stirred with cooked pasta.
Tuna sauce for salad (as a dressing):
Ingredients:
1 can of drained tuna
3 tablespoons mayonnaise or yogurt
1 tablespoon mustard
Juice of half a lemon
Salt, pepper to taste
(Optional: chopped celery, red onion, dill, parsley)
Preparation:
Flour the tuna in a bowl with a fork.
Add the mayonnaise or yogurt, mustard and lemon juice.
Mix thoroughly.
Season with salt and pepper.
Add optional chopped vegetables/spices.
Use: As a dressing or dip for salads.
