1 pound ground pork
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
Directions
1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground pork until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
3. Transfer the pork mixture to a slow cooker. Add the crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning, stirring to combine.
4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the flavors have melded together.
5. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving. Serve with cooked pasta.
Variations & Tips

For a bit of spice, add a pinch of red pepper flakes when cooking the onion and garlic. If you have picky eaters, you can finely chop some carrots and celery and add them to the slow cooker for extra nutrition. For a creamier sauce, stir in a splash of cream or a dollop of ricotta cheese just before serving. You can also substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
