I take the prepared salted herring and carefully remove the bones and skin. Place the chopped fillets in a bowl.
I add some chopped onion.
I also cut the Korean carrots into smaller pieces, although this isn't necessary. You can use the carrots in their original form.
Then add the apple cider vinegar and sunflower oil.
I add grainy mustard and homemade ketchup.
I cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate it for a day.
The next day, I bring the potatoes to a boil.
Before serving, I stir the herring, which has already absorbed all the flavors of the added ingredients.
Herring is served with potatoes, and this dish is much more flavorful than ordinary salted fish.
