Homemade Caramel sauce

Ingredients:
200 g sugar

80 ml water

120 ml cream (e.g., heavy cream)

30 g butter

1 pinch of salt (optional – for salted caramel)

Preparation:
Caramelize the sugar:
Place the sugar and water in a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Do not stir! Gently swirl the pan until the sugar dissolves.
