2–3 garlic cloves, minced

1/4 cup olive oil

Juice of 2 lemons

1 tsp dried oregano

1–2 bay leaves

Salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Water or vegetable broth (6–8 cups)

Optional: chopped fresh parsley or dill for garnish
