1. Degreasing Stovetops and Ovens
To remove grease and food residues:
Baking Soda Paste: Mix three tablespoons of baking soda with one cup of warm water to form a paste. Apply to greasy areas, let it sit for 10 minutes, then scrub with a sponge.
Vinegar Spray: Combine equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray onto greasy surfaces and wipe clean with a damp cloth.
Note: For tougher stains, a mixture of baking soda and vinegar can be applied to the affected area. Allow it to fizz and sit for a few minutes before scrubbing.
2. Cleaning Stainless Steel Sinks
To restore shine to your sink:
Baking Soda Scrub: Wet the sink, sprinkle baking soda over the surface, and scrub with a cloth. Rinse thoroughly.
Vinegar Soak: Soak paper towels in white vinegar and place them over the sink. Let them sit for 20 minutes, then remove and rinse the sink.
3. Unclogging Drains
To clear minor clogs:
Baking Soda and Vinegar: Sprinkle four tablespoons of baking soda down the drain, followed by two cups of vinegar. Let the mixture bubble and sit for 15 minutes. Flush with boiling water.
